Mr. John Edward Pontius, age 81 of Hart, died Friday, April 10, 2009. He was born in Leavitt Township on August 1, 1927 to Peter and Addie (Cole) Pontius. He was employed as a laborer in manufacturing and was a former member of the Oceana Eagles. Mr. Pontius is survived by his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Chester, Henry, Albert and Martin; one sister, Ida Peeraer. The Funeral Service for Mr. Pontius will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 5:00 P.M. from the Tate-King Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Gray officiating. Interment in the Elbridge Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Oceana County Medical Care Facility.
