John W. Riley, 92, of Mears, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. John was born February 6, 1928, in Hart, the son of Clayton and Flora Riley.

John was a 1946 graduate of Hart High School, and then served his county in the US Army from 1946-1947. John was a lifetime fruit grower in Oceana County. He was a past member of the Hart Public School Board and Golden School Board. John's greatest devotion was to his Lord; he was a member and former Deacon at First Baptist Church in Hart.

John is survived by: his children, Jean (Barry) Palmerton, Mark (Jean) Riley, Karen (Dave) Nienhuis, Daniel (Colleen) Riley, and Beth (Andy) Snider; 21 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Simmons; and sister-in-law, Carol Riley.

John was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife of 67 years, Wilma B. Riley; sister, Margaret Schrumpf; brothers, Stanley Riley and Fred Riley; granddaughter, Andrea Riley; and grandson, Zackary Snider.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Monday, February 1, 2021, at First Baptist Church, 3258 N 72 ^nd Avenue, Hart, with Pastor Ryan Vander Zwaag and Pastor Ryan Stuckey officiating. Following the memorial service, a short gathering for immediate family only, will be held at the church. Interment will be in Mears Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oceana Christian School (OCS) or First Baptist Church.
