Mr. John Verschueren, age 93 of Hart, died Wednesday November 4, 2009. He was born in Ravenna, Michigan on October 14, 1916 to Henry and Mary Verschueren. On September 17, 1937, he married Mary Oomen at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare. John was employed in the Test House and was a Millwright at Teledyne Continental Motors for 32 years, until his retirement in 1974. His interests included hunting and fishing and generally enjoying the great out of doors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II and attended St. Gregory Catholic Church. Mr. Verschueren is survived by his son, Gerald (LaRue) Verschueren of Hart; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Hattie of Washington State; Pauline Brimmer of Hart. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary on August 17, 2002; daughter Delores Mangold in 1967; 3 sisters, Grace, Julia, Marguerite; brother, Joseph. The Mass of the Resurrection will be offered Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Gregory Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Schiller presiding. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Oceana County Medical Care Facility.
