Obituary

Jolene Rae Maressa, 53, of Newaygo, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025. She was born March 31, 1972, in Trenton, New Jersey, the daughter of Joseph Maressa and Janel Morin (Fletcher) .

Jolene graduated from Olympia High School in Washington State, in 1990. After high school, she moved to Michigan and became a prominent financial consultant in the White Lake area for banks such as Comerica Bank, PNC, as well as Shelby State Bank. She was an absolute whiz with numbers and built many lasting relationships with her banking customers as well as her coworkers.

Jolene's smile lit up a room, her light-hearted attitude always made everyone around her feel comfortable and welcome. She loved sports, playing soccer in her youth, and continuing with adult softball and volleyball leagues in Muskegon. She loved spending time with her fiance and their dog Gunner, out at their Newaygo property where they built a gorgeous log cabin alongside her son in the woods. She was a huge fan of country music and absolutely loved concert-going, especially to see Luke Bryan. But above all, she loved her family and loved to spend time with them.

In recent years, Jolene attended Life Church of Grand Haven, where her faith deepened tremendously. She loved Jesus and was baptized in Lake Michigan by her son-in-law, Trevor, on July 28th, 2024.

Jolene is survived and will always be loved by her children, Nathanial (Kanda) Parrott, Cassy (Trevor) Kleinmeyer, and Kendra (Derek) Meyers; brother, Justin Maressa; her niece & nephews, Raelyn, Jaden, and Mason Maressa; father and step-mother, Joseph and Jan Maressa; mother, Janel Morin (Fletcher); her seven grandchildren, Gracelynn, Nova, Jovi, Lucy, Truett, Cooper, and baby Cohen; as well as her fiance, Samuel Zimmerman. She is fondly remembered by her extended family and friends.

In accordance with Jolene's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at Life Church of Grand Haven, 1000 Waverly Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:30 AM, followed by a luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Menopause Society: Raising funds for education, advocacy, and scientific studies on midlife women's health, covering areas from heart disease to mental health impacts. The Menopause Society: https://menopause.org/
