Joseph Reynolds Jonassen of Walkerville passed away December 17, 2013. He was born to Earl and Wilna (Reynolds) Jonassen on November 5, 1928, in Lansing, MI. In 1947 he married Geraldine Glover. Together they had 8 children, Susan Bettys of Ovid, Phillip of Walkerville, Irene of Hart, David of West Olive, Martin (Alice) of Gallatin, MO, John (Gina) of Walkerville, Bonnie (Dave) McCoy of Walkerville, and Andrew (Konnie) of Athens, WI. Mr. Jonassen has 41 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, and 6 step-great grandchildren. A sister-in-law, Phyllis Jonassen, and 3 nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his only brother, Edward Jonassen; a son-in-law, Ben Bettys; and 1 granddaughter, Deborah Jonassen. In 1981, Mr. Jonassen married Suzanne Armstrong Riley, who also survives. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
