Mr. Joseph J. Roudonis, age 85 of Hart, died Thursday, June 10, 2010. He was born in Spring Wells, Wayne County, Michigan on July 4, 1924 to Joseph and Eva (Inievicutei) Randonus. He married Vicki Mueller in Hart on December 31, 1988. He was employed as a carpenter working out of the Local Carpenters Union in the Detroit area. Mr. Roudonis served his country for a number of enlistments in the U.S. Navy. He served in the European, Mediterranean, Pacific, African and Asiatic Theaters, earning a Bronze Star. He served on the original USS Constellation, which was commissioned during the Revolutionary War. While serving in the Pacific, Joseph was introduced to the Doberman Pinscher dog breed. From that moment on, since 1949, Joseph always had and loved Dobermans. He was a mentor to other owners, breeders and judges of the Doberman breed. Joseph was a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America, and was lifetime member of the Oakland County Kennel Club, and the Doberman Pinscher Club of Detroit. He was also a member of the Oceana Wigton-Benona Lodge #200 F & AM, where he was a Past Master of the Lodge. He was also a member of the Shrine Club, Knights Templar and Royal Arch Masons. Joseph was also an avid organic gardener and hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife Vicki Roudonis of Hart; step-children, Daniel Roudonis and Diane Roudonis of Florida; step-grandchildren, Kelly, Benjamin, Robert and Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents, and step-mother, siblings, first wife Kathryn Roudonis in 1985 and step-son Edward Roudonis. The Funeral Service for Mr. Roudonis will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. from the King Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph M. Glover officiating. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery with Military Honors by the Hart VFW Post 1329 and the Hart American Legion Post 234. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home, where the Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. by the Oceana Wigton-Benona Lodge #200 F & AM.
