Joseph "Big Joe" Ralph Schuster, 78, of Kingsley, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at home.  He was born September 2, 1943, in Traverse City, the son of Ralph and Rosaline (Hall) Schuster.

Joe was franchise owner for Pepperidge Farm, distributing bread and other baked goods from Grand Traverse County to the Mackinac Bridge.  Joe enjoyed farming and being outdoors.  He was a no-frills no-nonsense man who always had a story to tell.

On June 27, 1970, Joseph married Beverly Jean Hendges who survives him.  He is also survived by: his daughter, Jody Perkins; grandchildren, Robert and Emily Perkins; step-grandchildren, Michael and Kayleen Perkins; and many relatives and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Todd Schuster; sister, Anita Haycraft; and in-laws, Delton and Maxine Hendges.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Monday December 20, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, with Pastor Colleen Wierman officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
