Josephine "Dodie" Mae Schmuckal, 86, of Kingsley, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, June 25, 2021, at home with her family by her side.  She was born January 9, 1935, in Frankfort, the daughter of Clifford and Esther (Cozart) Peckham.

With her late husband, John, Dodie owned and operated Schmuckal Rentals.  In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, and playing cards with her grandkids.  She especially enjoyed going for rides and was able to take a final ride a week prior to her passing.  Above all, Dodie loved her family.  She was a loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed beyond measure.

Dodie is survived by: her children, Cindy (Marshall) Rokos, Louis Schmuckal, Shelley Strang, Joni Schmuckal and Marc Schmuckal; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Inza (LD) Homan and Mary Bramer.

On June 3, 1954, at St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Church, in Kingsley, she married John Frank Schmuckal Jr. who preceded her in death on February 1, 2006.  She was also preceded in death by: her parents; son-in-law, Richard Strang; and her siblings, June Marchant, Sharon Peckham, Clifford Peckham, and Jim Peckham.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, with Pastor Joel Brown officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the funeral home, and from 10:00 AM until time of services on Thursday.
