Josephine Frayre Moreno, 93, of Whitehall, formerly of Owosso, died Thursday, August 24, 2017, at White Lake Assisted Living, in Whitehall, where she received the most wonderful,  loving care.  She was born December 12, 1923, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Julian and Francisca (Caso) Frayre.

Josephine attended Shepherd High School, and when she was in her 60's, she was awarded a full scholarship at Baker College in Owosso.  Josephine was a member of Grace Bible Church, in Owosso, where she loved teaching Vacation Bible School and assisting with the Awana Wednesday Night Club for several years.  She also attended Evangelical Covenant Church in Whitehall.

On March 10, 1940, in Mt. Pleasant, Josephine married Daniel Nicolas Moreno, who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by: her son-in-law, Donald Woznick; her grandson, Aaron Moreno; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Josephine enjoyed playing golf with her husband, Daniel, traveling, and spending winters in Punta Gorda, Florida.

Josephine is survived by: her daughters, Helen (David) Allshouse of Whitehall, Rita Woznick of Lake Orion, and Olivia (Phil) Seely of Corunna; her son, Daniel "Ed" (Carol) Moreno of Denver, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at White Lake Assisted Living, in Whitehall.  A memorial service will also be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Memorial Gardens in Mt. Pleasant.
