Mrs. Josephine F. VandenHeuvel, age 93 of Ludington, died Monday March 8, 2010. She was born one of seven children in Hart on August 4, 1916 to Peter and Mary (Clayes) Kokx. On November 7, 1936 at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare, she married Albert VandenHeuvel and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1993 after 57 years of marriage together. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society and also Oceana County Farm Bureau. She was a dedicated homemaker, 4-H leader, and enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. She will be sadly missed. Josephine is survived by her children, James VandenHeuvel of Ludington, Thomas (Brigitte) VandenHeuvel of Whispering Pines, NC, Mary Jo (Andrew) Todd of Phoenix, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; daughter in law, Scheryl VandenHeuvel of Hart; sister, Thelma Hook; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, 3 sons, Willard, Gerald and William VandenHeuvel, grandson, Bryon VandenHeuvel, 2 daughters in law, Mildred and Shirley VandenHeuvel, 3 brothers, Harold (Lillian) Kokx, Linus (Margaret) Kokx, Robert (Carolyn) Kokx, 3 sisters, Evelyn (Isadore) Greiner, Bernice (Al) bond, Genevieve (Henry) VandenHeuvel, 1 brother in law, Neil (Anna) VandenHeuvel, brother in law, NJ Hook. The Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Weare Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Phil Shangraw presiding. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mass intentions or to Harbor Hospice. A Luncheon will follow the Mass at St. Joseph Parish Center.
