Mrs. Joyce E. Gardy, age 81, of Pentwater, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015. She was born September 15, 1933, in Flint to Douglas and Lou (Madison) Setterington. She was attended Pentwater Schools and married William Gardy on September 11, 1951 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Pentwater; they were married sixty three years. Joyce was a fantastic homemaker and loved cooking and baking, as well as making crafts. She also loved to line dance and was also a Sunday school teacher at her church and a Girl Scout leader.

Joyce is survived by her husband, William Gardy; children, Kenneth (Carol) Gardy of SC, Colleen Gardy of Buffalo, NY, William G. (Diane) Gardy of Pentwater, and Cindy C. (Jerry) Close of Traverse City; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one brother: Gene (Alma) Reid of Cedar; and one sister-in-law, Marge Reid of SC. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Gardy will be Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 2:00 pm at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Hart with Pastor Melanie Young officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home, Hart. Interment will be in Pentwater Township Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Centenary United Methodist Church, 82 South Hancock Street, Pentwater, MI 49449.
