Joyce Agnes Spratling, 90, of Whitehall, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 after a long battle with dementia. She was born August 11, 1932, in Grand Rapids, the only child of Peter and Agnes Jablonski.

After Joyce graduated from Cedarville High School in 1949, she moved back to Grand Rapids. Joyce worked at Michigan National Bank in the mortgage department before her and Gordon (Chuck) Spratling met and married in September, 1958. Afterwards, she was a stay-at-home mom to their two children.

Joyce enjoyed cooking, sewing, and taking care of her home and family. She also loved to read and solve crossword puzzles until her memory began to fail. She loved all animals, especially her cats which brought her much joy. She also enjoyed fishing, going to the beach and taking long walks.

Joyce is survived by: her husband of 64 years, Gordon Spratling; children, Tim (Cheryl) Spratling and Karen (Scot) Wentworth; grandchildren, Trisha (Mat) Usinger and Amy Spratling; sisters-in-law, Sue Piette and Barbara Pennington; and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers-in-law, Ralph Pennington, Donald Spratling, Ronald Spratling, Robert Spratling, and Chuck Piette; and sisters-in-law, Lois Spratling and Shirley Spratling.

In accordance with Joyce's wishes, an intimate service and prayer will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday, March 3, 2023, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, MI 49461. Following the service, a burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
