In Loving Memory of Joyce Elaine Stafford (Valvoda)

It is with loving hearts that we celebrate the life of Joyce Stafford, who passed away in her home on Elk Lake, June 29th, 2024.

Without being limited by lyrics, classical music is timeless and universal as it tells a beautiful story unique to each person who experiences it.  Our mother's life and love she gave is the timeless music of our lives and the words I write here would only bind an unbounding story of what she means to us.  No rhyme, no metaphor, no imagery or perfectly written line could enhance her story or begin to explain her impact.

Our mother was a selfless friend of everyone and most importantly, she successfully and enthusiastically raised us and shaped us into the people we are today with our own families.  While many people would find raising 4 boys (and one husband) to be a challenge, she loved every moment of it, and it was constantly evident. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, dog mom, and friend of many.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard Stafford, their kids Eric Stafford and wife Kathy, Jared Stafford and wife Elie, Corey Stafford and wife Crystal, Drew Stafford and wife Candace, and her grandchildren Ember, Sully, Luca, Wes, Mia, and Colette Joy (due in August).

We thank God that he placed her in our lives.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, 312 Pine Street, Elk Rapids, Michigan  49629, with the Reverend Zachary Nelson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until time of services at the funeral home.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Elk Rapids Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
