Obituary

Mrs. B. June Gibbons McDonough LeTarte, age 80, died at home on March 27, 2007. She was born June 24, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late John P. Gibbons and Gladys Towne Gibbons. She graduated from Annunciation High School in Detroit in 1944. She married Frank M. LeTarte on November 11, 1949, and raised their family in Smith Creek, before moving to Hancock in the Upper Peninsula, and then to Pentwater in 1984. She was also involved in church activities and volunteered at the local libraries. She is survived by her husband of 57 years and ten of her children: Rev. Fr. John T. McDonough, Fountain Hills, AZ; Lynn Ann Dazer, Harrison Township, MI; Elaine LeTarte, Pentwater, MI; Paul (Denyse) LeTarte of Royal Oak, MI; Gene (Christine) LeTarte, Wales, MI; June (Roy) Price, Keizer, OR; Celia (Robert) Erickson, Tempe, AZ; Phillis (Christopher) Hynes, Gordonsville, VA; Joseph LeTarte, Glendale, AZ; and Michelle LeTarte, Los Angeles, CA. She has 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Patrick McDonough; her daughter Ann (Howard) Bland; two infant daughters; and her sisters, Mildred Patricia Kubik and Phyllis Ruth Moore. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Vincent Catholic Church, Pentwater. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 7-9 P.M. and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed Friday at 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the Pentwater Township Library, 402 E. Park St., Pentwater, MI 49449 or Hospice of Mason County, 10 Atkinson Drive, Suite 3, Ludington, MI 49431.
