Karen Marie Houseman, 73, of Montague, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Sanctuary at the Park in Muskegon. She was born December 1, 1943, in Muskegon, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Day) Tate.
Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, whose greatest joy was taking care of and being with her family.
Karen is survived by: her daughters, Lisa (Ken) Price of Muskegon, Lori (Bob Turner) Willis of Zeeland, and Bonnie (John) Houseman-Welch of Montague; 7 grandchildren, Robert (Helairy) Houseman, John "J.J." Welch, Tyler Velez, Devon Willis, Brooke Welch, Chase Velez and Max Welch; 2 great-grandchildren, Isaac and Leorah; her brother, Jerry (Carol) Tate; her dear friend, Shirley Dorr; and several nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by: her husband, Al Houseman in 1994, her grandson, Jackson Welch; and her sister, Susan Wade.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, in Whitehall, followed by a time to enjoy refreshments and some of Karen's favorite foods in the family center.
