Miss Katelyn Rose Hicks, age 17 months, of Hart, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012. She was born March 22, 2011, in Muskegon to Donald and Erin (Ford) Hicks. Although her life was short she was and is loved by many people. She taught people how to stay strong and to not take life for granted. Kate was a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a niece, and a cousin; someone who could make you laugh and cry; someone with her own personality and smile; a great cuddler; good at making people jump with every beep; and a fighter.Katelyn is survived by her parents, Donald and Erin; her brother and sister, Alexander and Abagail Hicks, both at home; grandparents Lynn Stevens, Donald (Scheryl VanDenHeuvel) Ford, Don Hicks, and Denice Cram, all of Hart; great-grandmothers, Shirley Ford of Hart and Jackie Stevens of Pentwater; uncles and aunts, Jeremy (Tara) Ford, Lisa (Mike) Mull, Michelle (Doug) Pider, all of Hart, and Amy (Tim) White of Virginia; and several cousins.The funeral service for Katelyn will be Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at King Funeral Home in Hart with Father Anton Tran officiating. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home.
