Mrs. Katherine Helen Foster, age 103, of Hart, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. She was born December 8, 1912, in Mears to Hiram and Anna (Duemler) Staples. On April 16, 1936 Katherine married Herbert Foster at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Weare, they celebrated fifty-three years together before his passing in 1989. She was a homemaker to her family and a fabulous cook and baker, known for her cinnamon rolls on the farm for her family to enjoy after attending Mass on Sunday. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

Katherine is survived by two daughters, Sally (David) Morden of New Era and Sandra (Jerry) Molnar of Hart; two sons, Herbert G. (Helen) Foster of Hart and Allen (Janice) Foster of Hart; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Agnes Rhoades; two brothers, Archie Staples of Hart and Earl (Rosalee) Staples of Mears; and sister-in-law, Barbara Foster of Mears. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Foster; four sisters, Josephine Skinner, Blanche Foster, Erma Bowden, Dorothy O'Brien; and two brothers, Milan Staples and Vincent Staples.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Foster will be offered Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at 11:00 am at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart with Father Thomas Bolster presiding. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 6:00-8:00 pm at King Funeral Home Of Hart. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 316 South Peach Street, Hart, MI.
