Kathie Callis Sturgis, age 66, of Spring Lake, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2025. Born on March 29, 1958, in Oceana County, Michigan, Kathie lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to others.

Kathie was the beloved wife of Darrell Lee Sturgis for 27 years. She was a devoted mother to son Adam Callis (Jennifer) of Cary, NC, and a proud grandmother to her three cherished grandchildren: Jay, Morgan, and Katya Callis. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Melissa Quinlan (Lance) of Grant, Michigan, and her sister, Loni Callis of Muskegon, Michigan.

Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert J. Callis and Marilyn Dorothy Callis.

Kathie was a dedicated paramedic for over 40 years, serving the communities of Muskegon County, Oceana County, and Newaygo County in Michigan, as well as Cape Fear Valley Hospital in North Carolina. Her compassion and commitment to helping others were evident in every aspect of her life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. In addition to her career, Kathie had a deep love for horses and horseback riding. She shared many happy moments with her husband, Darrell, deer hunting and enjoying the outdoors together.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, MI 49461, with visitation being held 1:00 PM until time of service, and a luncheon to follow the service here at the funeral home.
