Kathleen Ann McKissack, 80, of Mears, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021. She was born August 22, 1941, in Muskegon, the daughter of Gerrit and Loretta (Gallagher) Alderink.

Kathleen is well known from her work at Gale's IGA and running the concessions stand at Silver Lake Sand Dragway. She had also been employed for over 10 years as a bus driver with Hart Public Schools. Kathleen enjoyed hosting family gatherings at her home, and outdoor activities such as golfing and shuffleboard. She was known as the "Shuffleboard Queen" winning the championship in Largo, Florida for 2-3 consecutive years.

Being a woman of faith, Kathleen was active at both St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart, and St. Joseph Weare Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering, teaching faith formation, and even revived the Ox Roast at St. Joseph's.

On November 5, 2005, Kathleen married Ted McKissack, and he survives her. She is also survived by: her children, Dan (Kathie) Snyder, Karen (Bill) Weideman, and Laurie Buursma; grandchildren, Will Weideman, Sara (Tim) Harmsen, and Katherine (Hunter) Merrill; great-grandchildren, Cole Harmsen, Cooper Harmsen, Wyatt Harmsen, and Calloway Merrill; and siblings, Joseph Alderink, Patricia Woodring, and Evelyn Smith.

Kathleen was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Mary Ellen (John) Lee; brother, Eugene Alderink; sister-in-law, Arlene Alderink; and brothers-in-law, Donald Woodring and Ken Smith.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 316 South Peach Avenue, Hart, MI 49420, with Rev. Daniel Schumaker officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM, Monday, December 13, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72 ^nd Avenue, Hart, MI 49420, with a praying of the Rosary at 6:30 PM. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Weare Township.
