Kathryn "Kathi" Ann Kewaygoshkum, 71, of Traverse City, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025, with family by her side.  She was born October 26, 1953, in Dorr, the daughter of Darwin and Gloria (Hoffman) Burwell.

Kathi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  In addition to raising four children, she welcomed over 40 foster children into her home.  She will be remembered as the core of her family, always cooking elaborate meals and treating everyone to her famous fudge.  In her spare time, Kathi enjoyed reading and gardening.  She was known for her holiday decorating, especially Halloween.  The whole community enjoyed her yard.

On January 13, 1983, Kathi married Robert Kewaygoshkum who survives her.  She is also survived by: her children, Debra (Russell) Wilson-Anderson of Traverse City, Georgianna Hazelton of Mesick, and Matthew (Susan) Kewaygoshkum of Kalkaska; many foster children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Patricia See, Daniel (Rose) Burwell, John Gries, and Anna Marvel.

Kathi was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Ryan Kewaygoshkum; and siblings, James (Jim) Burwell, Theresa Marvel, and Francis (Frank) Gries.

No services will be held.
