IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Leland
Aldrich
September 14, 1942 – November 30, 2021
Kenneth L. Aldrich, 79, of Kingsley, died quietly in his sleep, on November 30, 2021, at Munson Medical Center. He was born September 14, 1942, in Traverse City, Michigan, the only child of Claire V. and Olive (Haskin) Aldrich.
He was a lifetime resident of Traverse City before moving to Kingsley upon his retirement. On August 21, 1965, he married Joanna E. Arlt, of Kingsley, who survives him. Kenneth served four active years in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was the owner of Grand Traverse Welding and Fabrication during the 1980s and drove the US mail truck for Jim Schueler for several years before retiring in 2006. He loved outdoor activity: boating, riding motorcycles, and racing; anything with a motor that moved fast and was loud.
Besides his wife, he will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by: one daughter, Laurie (Lealon) Terry of Blue Spring, MS; three sons, Montgomery (Sheri) of Las Vegas, NV, Martin of Mesa, AZ, and Mark of Kingsley, MI; three grandchildren, Jill (Norman) Burris of TX, JoAnne (Jason) Mooneyhan of MS, and Kristopher Terry of MS. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Jim Arlt, Donald (Carolyn) Arlt, Roy (Susan) Arlt; sister-in-law, Vicki Arlt, all of Kingsley; sister-in-law, Rita (Brad) Smith of Cedar Springs, MI; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Gerald Arlt.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Monday, December 6, 2021, at Beacon Cremation and Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, in Kingsley, in the spring. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home.
Because of the pandemic conditions, family and friends are welcome to attend but cautioned to consider their own health before coming. Our family is thankful for the thoughts and prayers of everyone.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
