IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Gordon
Kolndorfer
June 19, 1952 – November 20, 2021
Kenneth "Ken" Kolndorfer, 69, of Kingsley, died Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. He was born in Traverse City on June 19, 1952, the son of Gordon and Charrie (Carlisle) Kolndorfer.
Ken worked as a mason for over 50 years. He took pride in his work and always had a colorful story about his many completed projects and coworkers over the years. He graduated from Kingsley High School and was proud to have been a part of the 1970 State Runner Up basketball team. Ken remained a sports enthusiast throughout his entire life; he coached his kids' Pee-Wee basketball teams and taught his daughter the key to having a chance at winning a game of horse against him was to master shooting from the baseline. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed mushroom hunting, bird hunting, shining deer, and snowmobiling. He inherited his biggest passion of deer hunting from both his Mom and Dad. Ken passed his love of hunting deer onto his sons and spent many hunting seasons with them in the woods he loved so much.
Ken is survived by: his children, Christine (Erik) Hauser of Interlochen, Jason (Jodi) Kolndorfer of Kingsley, and Tim (Sarah) Kolndorfer of Fife Lake; his grandchildren, Courtney, Kaleb, Julia, Soren, Gus, Kalliope, Jocelyn, and Bella; the mother of his children and lifelong friend, Cindi (Tedd) Carlisle of Traverse City; stepchildren, Kirk Simmons of Baker, Florida, and Ryan Simmons of Crestview, Florida, and their families; sister, Debra (Dave) VanHulle of Kingsley; niece, Kelli (Bob) Kolarik; and sister-in-law Rosemary Layosa and family.
Ken was preceded in death by: his parents; step-father Bob Hall; his wife, Cynthia Layosa-Kolndorfer; and his niece, Kori VanHulle.
In keeping with Ken's wishes, private services will be held by his family.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
