Kolten Lee Bolles, aged 28, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, leaving behind a family and community who loved him deeply.
Kolten was born June 3, 1997, in Muskegon. He was raised and lived in Hesperia until his death.
Kolten was a devoted father, beloved son, cherished brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend to many. Above all else, he treasured the time he spent with his son and best friend, Maddox, who was the center of his world.
Kolten was truly happiest outdoors; whether he was hunting, fishing, pulling draft horses, or sitting with a guitar in his hands, he embraced the simple joys of country life. Those who knew him will forever remember his adventurous spirit, kind heart, and love for family and friends.
Kolten was blessed with a large blended family who loved and supported him throughout every aspect of his life. The bonds he shared with those closest to him were strong, meaningful, and filled with countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Though his passing was unexpected and far too soon, the love he gave and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Kolten is survived by: his loving son, Maddox (mother, Dana Derks); his parents, Rachel Woodward and Brandon & Paula Bolles; siblings, Kennedy Bolles (Bret), Cash Bolles (Sydni), Sadie Pearson (Bradley), Ava Afton, Brock Bolles (Morgan), Curtis Afton, Travis Bolles, Danielle Wolfsen (Colby), and Jessika Wolfsen; grandparents, Dawn Bolles-MacKay, Mary Lou Woodward, Craig (Doc) & Mary Lou Afton; and great-grandfather, Murray Johnson; special parents, Brad Afton and Melissa Cook; several nieces and nephews; a host of extended family; and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his presence.
Kolten was preceded in death by: his brother-in-law, Logan Pearson; grandfathers, Roger Bolles, Bruce Woodward, and Rick MacKay; and grandmother, Ann Burdick.
