Mr. Larry A. Peterson, age 48 of Hart, died Friday, October 10, 2008. He was born in Harbor Beach, MI on February 4, 1960 to Robert and Dorothy (Bromund) Peterson. On June 11, 1983 he married the former JoEllen Jones in Hart. He was employed as auditor at the Little River Band Casino at Manistee. Larry earned his B.A. in Accounting and Business Management from Muskegon Community College and Baker College. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion and a past member of the Hart VFW Post 1329. Larry is survived by his wife of 25 years, JoEllen Peterson of Hart; children, Keeli Jo Annie Mae Peterson of Manistee, Bria Jane Peterson at home, Logan Allan Peterson at home; mother, Dorothy Peterson of Escanaba, MI; father in law, Lloyd (Norma Eling) Jones of Muskegon; granddaughter, Moncerrad Jenyl Heckman and her parents, Isabel (Sean) Heckman, all of Weare; brothers and sisters, Nancy (Steve) Tufenell of Escanaba, Shari (Ron) Johnson of Escanaba, Bob Peterson of Cheboygan, MI and Cindy Markham of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Peterson in 1998, foster daughter, Marleigh Riggs; mother in law, Hazel Mae Jones; sister, Jamie Humbert. The Memorial Service for Larry will be held Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Amos officiating. A gathering for friends and family will be Thursday from 5-6 P.M. at the funeral home. A Military Veteran Salute will be offered by the Hart VFW Post 1329.
