IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laurie Lynn
Linard
February 28, 1958 – July 6, 2022
Laurie Bekius Linard, 64, of Brighton, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, following a courageous battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme.
Laurie was born in Holland, Michigan, on February 28, 1958, to Ron and Doreen Bekius and raised in Whitehall, Michigan. After Laurie graduated from Whitehall High School in 1976, she went to Mercy Central Nursing School to get her nursing degree. She practiced as a Labor and Delivery nurse for several years before starting a family and focusing on being a full-time mom in Brighton.
Laurie's life was defined by her generosity, kindness, and compassion. She loved her Lord, family and friends fiercely, but her greatest joy came in raising her children and supporting them in all their endeavors. She was the ultimate team hockey mom, loving on not only her kids, but all of their friends as well. Laurie had a raw talent for fashion and followed her passion, leading her to a second career working in retail sales and buying for Beverly Rae's in Brighton and The Clothing Cove in Milford. She was also a clothing rep for Pure and Neon Buddha, allowing her to travel to some of her favorite destinations like Chicago and New York City. She was a woman of very strong faith and an active member of Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterial Church. In recent years, Laurie's favorite role was Nana to her four grandchildren.
Laurie will be forever missed and remembered by her children: Erin (Jeff) Lattner, Andrew (Brittany) Linard, and Nathan (Danielle) Linard; grandchildren, Braden (6 yo) and Brielle (4 yo) Linard, Jack (21 mo) Linard, and Sienna (19 mo) Lattner. Laurie is also survived by her beloved parents, Ron and Doreen Bekius, her brother, Greg (Nancy) Bekius, her sister, Ronda (Ross) Morningstar, and several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Laurie's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church (9455 Hilton Rd, Brighton, MI 48114) 10:00am Visitation; 11:00am Service; 12:00pm Luncheon, all held at Cornerstone Church.
Another service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Ferry Memorial Reform Church (8637 Old Channel Trail, Montague, MI 49437) 10:00am Visitation; 11:00am Service; 12:00pm Luncheon.
Memorial contributions can be made in Laurie's honor to the National Brain Tumor Society or St. Jude Foundation.
