Obituary

Mr. Lawrence A. Gindling, age 84 of Pentwater, died Friday, August 15, 2008. He was born in Sunman, IN on October 19, 1923 to William Anthony and Rosina Josephine (Lambert) Gindling. On September 30, 1944 he married the former Evelyn Johnson in Seal Beach, CA. Mr. Gindling was the regional area director of sales for Burlington Northern Railroad, until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of St. Clemens of Rome Catholic Church in Sun City, AZ, where they spent winters and attended St. Vincent Catholic Church in Pentwater, where they spent their summers. He was also a member of the TOT transportation group and was a Pharmacist Mate in the U.S. Navy serving in W.W. II. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn of Pentwater; daughter, Mrs. Judith (John) Black of Scottsdale, AZ; 2 grandchildren, Alex Black of Scottsdale, AZ and Erin Black of Portland, OR; brother, Robert Gindling of Sunman, IN; 2 sisters, Mildred Fox of Guilford, IN and Marian Gutzwiler of Batesville, IN; sister in law, Viola Gindling of Whiteland, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Gindling. The Mass of Resurrection will be offered Monday, August 18, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Vincent Catholic Church with Fr. Anton Tran presiding. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Michigan or Hospice of the Valley in Sun City, AZ.
