Mr. Lawrence Lee Horton, age 73, of Branch, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016.  He was born May 13, 1943, in Grand Rapids to Ellsworth and Margaret (Drube) Horton.  He was employed at John W. Potter Company as a heavy equipment operator for forty years, until his retirement ten years ago. He married the former Nancy Kay Baker in Grand Rapids on July 30, 1965. Lawrence loved being at Ruby Creek. He enjoyed birdwatching and his dog "Sassy". Together with Nancy, they wintered at Fiesta Village in Mission, Texas.

Lawrence is survived by his wife: Nancy Horton of Branch; four daughters: Karen (Brad) Froehlich of Walker, MI, Ellen Horton of Branch, Kathy (Scott) Vugteveen of Walker, MI and Pamela (Chad Guffey) Horton of Walker, MI and one son: Nicholas (Alanna Callen) Horton of Newaygo, MI;  eight grandchildren, Colin (Kelsey) Rogers, Kasey (Zach) Anderson, Craig Rogers, Mekenzie Froehlich, Sarah (Fiancee Christopher Smoes) Vugteveen, Nathan Vugteveen, Justin Wabsis, Cody Horton; one great granddaughter, Mollie Jo Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marlene Meeker, and Lorraine Heible.

A private Memorial Service will be held.
