IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lawrence Lee
Mousseau
July 3, 1944 – June 18, 2021
Lawrence "Larry" Mousseau, age 76, of Traverse City, MI was at Munson Medical Center when he peacefully passed through the veil of life and went to his eternal home on June 18, 2021. Larry was born on July 3, 1944, in Kinde, MI, to the late Nelson E. and Arla M. (Chapdelaine) Mousseau. He graduated from North Huron High School Class of 1962, and was proud to enlist in the United States Army, where he served two years as a company clerk. He was a devoted man of God, who deeply loved his family and his Country.
In 1978, Larry fell in love with Kathryn Knudsen. On October 19, 1985, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in Traverse City, MI they were joined together in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony before God, family, and friends. They spent the last 36 years of their lives trying to get each other to Heaven. Also, during those years, they were blessed with three beautiful children that filled their family life with much joy and love.
He moved to Traverse City to help open up Bowers Harbor Inn, also both Omelette Shoppes with his sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Richard Dell'Acqua. He then heard God call him to become an entrepreneur. Larry opened his own business called Mousseau's Refinishing Company, which expanded over 25 years in the Grand Traverse area. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cedar, MI. Larry used his God given talents with his voice singing in the church choir, and his hands to refinish/refurbish the Altar kneelers, Sedilia seat, Lector and Bishop chairs.
Larry was a fun loving man who loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing and hunting. His laugh was contagious and his humor brought about waves of laughter to all those around him. Please continue to share your years of fond memories with one another. He is loved by many and will be missed immensely.
Larry is survived by: his wife Kathryn; their son, Larry Mousseau of Beulah; daughters, Michelle (Don) Dixon of Lansing and Amy (Eric) Maust of Rochester Hills. Also surviving are: his brothers, Jerome (Diane) of Saginaw, Joseph (Theresa) of Sterling, Dan (Jennifer) of Unionville; sister, Susan (Tom) Stahl of Bad Axe; brother-in-law, Richard (Carolyn) Dell'Acqua. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Alexis and Parker Dixon, Kristen, Lane, Brody and Ashlyn Maust, and two great-grandchildren, Carter and Kinsley.
Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurice and Dave Mousseau; and five sisters, Loree Rice, Donna Ruth, Georgina Blach, Elaine Schultz, and Jeanette Dell'Acqua.
