Lawrence "Larry" Vernon Bargy, 84, of Kewadin, passed away on Tuesday November 21, 2023. He was born in Traverse City, Michigan, on July 8, 1939, to Calvin & Josephine (White) Bargy.

Larry married Alice Powell on October 30, 1962. Larry was many things in his life. He was a farmer and a soldier, an Antrim County commissioner for 17 years and a firefighter with the Milton Twp Fire Department for 32 years and served as the fire chief for 18 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #275 F.&A.M. of Elk Rapids, a member of the Amvets Post  #114, and a marksman. Larry will be remembered for his love of serving his community.  He will also be remembered for his passion for fishing, snowmobiling, and his love of classic Westerns.

Larry is survived by: his children, Robert Bargy & Anna (Dan) Boals; his brother, Lon (Anne) Bargy; and his grandchildren, Robert, Aleksander, Zackery, and Josephine Bargy, and Natalie Boals.

Larry was preceded in death by: his parents, Calvin & Josephine Bargy; his wife, Alice Bargy; and his son Wade Bargy.

Masonic services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Elk Rapids Chapel, 312 Pine Street, Elk Rapids. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
