Mr. Lawrence "Larry" Virgil Flory, age 98, of Hart, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. He was born April 28, 1914, in Winegars, Michigan to Timothy and Elva (Crates) Flory. He married Marguerite "Peggy" Kidder on July 20, 1945, in Hastings, Michigan. She preceded him in death in 2002. He and his brothers, Lee and Wayne, owned and operated Flory Drilling. He was a member of the Dunkard Brethren Church and was affiliated with the Oceana Council on Aging. Larry was known for his smile and good sense of humor. He had a kind and gentle spirit and a hard work ethic. He enjoyed trips to Iowa to visit his family and was always supportive of his children. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his vocation as an oil well driller.Larry is survived by his children, Dr. Roland (Cheri) Flory of Atlantic, Iowa and Sharon (Jay) McGhan of Hart, six grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, and his brothers, Lee (Irene) Flory, and Timothy Wayne (Gretchen) Flory. The funeral service for Mr. Flory will be held Friday, June 8, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Hart Wesleyan Church in Hart with Pastor David Gray and Pastor Thomas Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery.
