Mr. Leon Carl Beachum, age 62, of Hart, MI passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014. He was born November 9, 1951, in Hart, MI to Earl and Maxine (Lambrix) Beachum. He was employed as a lift truck operator at Hanson Cold Storage until his retirement on May 28, 2014. Leon graduated from Hart High School Class of 1969, and obtained his BA degree from Ferris State University in Accounting. Leon was an avid gardener and hunter. He especially enjoyed all of his grandchildren. Leon looked forward to his retirement years.

Leon is survived by one daughter, Angela (Michael) Garcia of Pentwater, MI and one son, Brett (Michelle) Beachum of Hart, MI; 5 grandchildren, Camryn, Taylor, Alyx, Ayden and Avery; two sisters, Sheila (Jerry) Belligan of St. Johns, MI, and Lisa (Scott) Machette of Carrolton, MI; one brother, Thomas (Tracy) Beachum of St. Johns, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Memorial Service for Mr. Beachum will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. from the King Funeral Home in Hart with Father Anton Tran officiating. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service at King Funeral Home of Hart. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Crystal Valley Care Fund, P.O. Box 451, Hart, MI 49420.
