Leon "Gene" Eugene Fouch went home to be with his lord on January 8, 2024.
Born to Leon D. Fouch and Ruth (Crain) Fouch on August 9, 1936.
Gene served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1957.
He worked in excavating and construction throughout his life and was a very hard worker who continued to work into his 80's. Anyone that knew Gene knew he did not like to sit still, and you could often find him in his garage. In the winter months he enjoyed plowing snow, and he was ready for the upcoming storms. He was always there to help anyone who needed it. He enjoyed his early morning trips for coffee with friends and family.
Gene was a dedicated member of the First Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years where he played his guitar and harmonica weekly.
He married Eleanor (Christopher) Fouch and together they raised 7 children in Traverse City, Michigan. He later married Julie (Wickstrand) Fouch in Traverse City.
He is survived by one sister, Patricia Green, his children Barb (Jack) Lentz, Tim (Karen) Fouch, Sheryl Rouse, Brian (Michelle) Fouch, Son-in-law, Luke Franklin, Daughter-in-law Joanne Fouch, Stepchildren, Doug (Jen) Loper and Brenda Loper, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, additional family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Karlene Nesky, his first wife, Eleanor, three children, Melissa Franklin, Doug Fouch, Ida Fouch and one granddaughter, Katie Fouch.
Funeral services will be held at First Church of the Nazarene, 1023 South Division Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49684 Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with a luncheon immediately following. Burial will occur at GT Memorial Gardens in the spring. Memorials may be directed to First Church of the Nazarene in memory of Leon E. Fouch.
