Leon Eugene Kaiser Jr., 91, of Kingsley, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at home with his family by his side.  He was born September 4, 1930, in Elk Rapids, the son of Leon and Reva (Wilson) Kaiser.  He would often mention to whomever that he was an Elk Rapids Native.

Leon lived a full life.  He was a Veteran of the US Army and a Paratrooper with the 101 ^st Airborne.  He had a long career as a lineman with Consumers Energy, retiring after 50 years and one month of employment.  He was Past State President (1987-1988) of the Michigan Elks Association, and he attended Kingsley United Methodist Church.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and an all-around good man who will be missed.

On May 4, 1979, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Traverse City, Leon married Sharon Nichols who survives him. He is also survived by: his children, James Nicholson of Clinton Township and Laura Hazen of St. Helens, Oregon; grandchildren, Scott Kaiser, Jesse Kaiser, Henry Hazen, and Lucy Hazen; great-grandchildren, Jensen Kaiser and Macie Grace Kaiser; and special sisters-in-law, Karen and Geri.

Leon was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Barry Kaiser; and his half-brother, Adelbert "Bert" Pomranky.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, with Pastor Colleen Wierman officiating.
