Lester Eugene Hammond, 70, of Whitehall, passed away on October 19th, 2022, after a long journey with illness, surrounded by his family. He was born January 3, 1952, the son of Lester and June (Blanshan) Hammond.

Lester married Paula Walters and they spent 45 years together. The love they shared together was special and they made great memories together.

Lester graduated from Whitehall High School. He worked and blessed many within the maintenance field, specializing in commercial repair helping many businesses over the years.

Lester enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, being outside, spending time with family, and was always ready to go on an adventure.

Lester is survived by: his wife, Paula; his son, James Hammond; and granddaughter, Alison Hammond.

Lester was preceded in death: by his parents, Lester and June Hammond; his brother, Ron Hammond; and uncle, Al Blanshan.

A celebration of life will take place at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, Michigan 49461. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you donate to Harbor Hospice Poppen House Residence. Lester spent his last days here at the Poppen Residence and received the best care we could have asked for.
