Obituary

Mrs. Letha F. Corr, age 93, died Wednesday December 27, 2006. She was born on Dravosburg, PA on June 21, 1913 to William and Panzy (Johnson) Booth. Lee came to Detroit in 1936 and worked for Hudson Motor Car Company until 1943. Lee became a welder during World War II and was proud to build the B-29 planes that helped win the war. She married Patrick J. Corr on May 2, 1942 in Detroit. Pat and Lee moved to Pentwater in 1943, where she resided continuously until September 2006. Lee worked at Balfour's Grocery Store for many years. Later in her life she became a housekeeper and companion to many of Pentwater's older residents. She will be long remembered and appreciated for her capable and faithful service to the Sands, Street, Williams, Jones and Shaw families. Lee was a fixture in the annual Pentwater Homecoming Parade. She walked the entire route in her authentic Victorian era costume each year from the mid 1960's until the mid 1980's. Lee loved animals, especially her dog Rex and cats Toby Ring Tail and Fluff Fluff. She is survived by her sisters, Wilma Williams of Ohio and Mary Crawmer of Maryland, and her sister in law Helen Booth and her family of Ohio.
Lee was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Patrick in 1968. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will be in the Pentwater Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Pentwater Historical Society, of which she was a member or to the Pentwater Seniors, of which she was also active.
