IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lewis "Lew"
Albert Jancek
April 30, 1926 – December 20, 2016
Lewis "Lew" Jancek, age 90, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at his home in Montague. He was born April 30, 1926, in Rothbury, to John and Anna Jancek.
On May 26, 1951, he married Retha "Marge" Paggeot and during their 57 year marriage they had seven daughters and one son. Inventor and intellectual, Lew was raised on a beautiful productive farm in Rothbury, learning the values of honesty, integrity and hard work from both his parents. Builder & tool maker here for 40 years, Lew was always working, learning, and enjoying life to the fullest. There's probably not a square mile in Muskegon that doesn't contain a structure he built or remodeled. He rebuilt a 1940's bulldozer that he used to build his several homes in Montague. He golfed on the Harvey Houston golf league with his brother Rich, earning the coveted green jackets several years. He and Marge were lifelong Tigers fans. They also bowled, hung out at the Eagles, and loved to dance to polka music. Lew was proud of raising 7 strong women. After his wife died he kept busy helping his girls and grandkids. "My father didn't tell me how to live, he lived and let me watch him do it".
Survived by: Diana Jancek of Muskegon, Judy (Jim) Davis of Tucson, AZ, Lynn Jancek (Rick Newberry) of Ellsworth, Lois Jancek (Tom Wagner) of Whitehall, Cindy (Jeff) Beckwith of Fruitport, Monica (Brian) Daigle of Muskegon, RaeJean (Jon) Erickson of Whitehall. One sister, Patricia Bates of Montague, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
