Obituary

Mrs. Lillian D. Lehman, age 90 of Hart, died Thursday, December 24, 2009. She was born in Muskegon on June 1, 1919 to Howard and Elsie (Turner) Eggleton. On October 7, 1942 at Muskegon, she married Henry Lehman. Mrs. Lehman received her Bachelors Degree in Education from Western Michigan University was a kindergarten teacher for 25 years at Golden and Spitler Elementary Schools, until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Mrs. Lehman was also a member of the Michigan Education Association and the Michigan Retired School Personnel Association. Her interests included gardening, playing golf at the Oceana Golf Club, playing cards, painting, snowmobiling, walking and her schnauzer dogs. She assisted with dinners at the Hart Area Fire Department and helped with 4-H activities. She is survived by her husband Henry Lehman of Hart, their children, Diana (Gayle) Weirich of Pentwater and Sarasota, FL, Linda (Craig) Owens of Traverse City, Daniel (Judy) Lehman of Pensacola, FL and Michael Lehman of Hart; 12 grandchildren, Wendy, David, Mark, Steven, Melisa, Angela, Nicole, Teresa, Stacy, Daniele, Erin and Michael Jr.; 15 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Howard (Dorie) Eggleton of Grand Rapids and Gordon(Lucy)Eggleton of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Kathleen Anderson and brother, Leonard Eggleton. The Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Lehman will be offered Monday, December 28, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. from St. Gregory Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Bolster presiding. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. and visitation also on Monday, one hour prior to Mass at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Gregory Catholic Church.
