Mrs. Lilyan F. Johnson, age 84 died Thursday, December 28, 2006. She was born January 8, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Peter F. and Fernandine (Rolandt) Deurinck. Lilyan married Norman R. Johnson in Chicago on January 6, 1942, who preceded her in death on October 15, 1974. Following Norman's death, Lilyan attended Westshore Community College School of Nursing and received her LPN degree and was employed at Memorial Medical Center. She was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church. Lilyan had a great love for music and played several instruments including, piano, accordion, guitar, trumpet and acorns. Her interests included needle work of all kinds, crafting and was an excellent cook, baker and artist. She loved her grandchildren and taking them for nature walks was her greatest passion. Lilyan will also be remembered as leading sing alongs at Johnny's Long Bridge Inn. She is survived by her children, Norman (Mary Ellen) Johnson of Lisle, IL, Raymond Johnson of Pentwater, Richard (Sue) Johnson of Pentwater, Donald Johnson of Porterdale, GA, Robert (Jan) Johnson of PeachTree City, GA, Fern (Frank) Hilton of Pentwater, Kathie (David) Mack of Pentwater, Patrice (Mark) Hilton of Smyrna, TN, Michael Johnson of Decataur, GA, David (Divina) Johnson of Kailua, HI, Mary (Jon) Christiansen of Kent City, MI. 26 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren. In addition to Norman, she was preceded in death by her brother Peter Duerinck. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Vincent Catholic Church with Fr. Anton Tran presiding. Interment in Pentwater Township Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Monday 7-9 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Mason County.
