Linda Theresa Backus, 69, of Branch, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born December 28, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James and Constance (Tumus) Griffis.

Linda loved spending time with her family and friends.  She also loved all of her dogs.

Linda is survived by: her daughters, Shelly (Tom) Churchill of Sawyer, and Susie (Roland) Peterson of Sawyer; her son, Thomas (Jenny) Ryan of Stevensville; her step-son, Ronald (Tracy Lollar) Backus Jr. of Berrien Springs; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; her brother, James (Dianne) Griffis of Coloma; several nieces and nephews; and many friends who were like family.

Linda was preceded in death by: her husband, Ronald Edward Backus Sr. in 2018; her step-son, Donald Backus; and her great-grandson, Cole Vaughn.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date at Lake Michigan Christian Center, 9955 Church Street, Bridgman, Michigan, 49106.
