Linda Jo Kartes, fondly known as Lin, passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2026 at Trinity Health in Muskegon, Michigan.

Lin was born on December 15, 1956 in Ludington Michigan to John and Janet (Hunter) MacArthur. She was a 1975 graduate of Whitehall High School and dedicated much of her professional life to the dental field, where she built a reputation for diligence and care. She worked most her career in Whitehall and eventually moved down to Georgia to be closer to her grandchildren. Later in her career, she transitioned to becoming an insurance agent, continuing her commitment to helping others navigate their needs with integrity and compassion.

Lin's life was marked by devotion to her family, a fulfilling career, and a love for the outdoors that truly defined her spirit. Known for her loving nature, encouraging words, and genuine care for those around her, Lin touched countless lives with her warmth, especially during her time helping with the youth group at her old church in Whitehall. Moments by the beach, hiking through nature, and watching football, mostly the Detroit Lions and University of Michigan, were the things she loved most. She especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Lin is survived by her devoted children Jeff (Mariah) Kartes and Kristin (Jessica) Kartes. Her legacy shines brightly through her grandchildren Jose (Shae) Kartes, Isabella, Lilyana, Lennon, Nora, and Mabel, as well as her great-granddaughter Landry. Lin also leaves behind her siblings Lois (Micheal) Temple, Joan (Craig) Britton, and John (Julie) MacArthur, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Janet MacArthur, whose memory she kept close throughout her life.

Linda Jo Kartes will be remembered with deep affection and respect by all who knew her; a woman whose kindness, strength, and love of life enriched her family and community beyond measure.
