Obituary

Lloyd Edward Stanley, 80, of Twin Lake, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019. Lloyd was born July 12, 1939, in Muskegon, Michigan.

Lloyd joined the US NAVY in 1956 and retired as a chief in 1975. He was blessed with 4 children and over 47 years of marriage to his wife, Ethel, until her death in 2007. Lloyd was a lifetime member of the VFW and a volunteer firefighter for Dalton Township. Lloyd enjoyed hunting, playing cards, wood-working and watching the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Pistons. He was a kind, giving, gentle man who will be deeply missed.

Lloyd is survived by: his children, Lloyd Stanley, Bryan Stanley, Virgil (Joi) Stanley and Vickie (Alfred) Evans; grandchildren, Rachel (Ryan) Walker, Christopher Stanley, Ryan Hogendyk, Katelyn Boehs, Lidnsey Allen, Aaron Allen, and Reuntae Evans; great-grandson, Logan; brothers, Alfred (Karen) Stanley, and Dennis Stanley; sisters, Carol Short, and Agnes Crawford; and several step-siblings.

He was preceded in death by: his wife; grandson, Andrew Evans; parents; brother, Keith; and sisters, Claudia and Eilene

A celebration of life open house will take place from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall. A public graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, August 23, 2019, at Oakland Cemetery, 4988 Russell Road, Twin Lake.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
