Mrs. Lois Marie Astor, age 86, of Pentwater, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014. She was born July 26, 1927, in Grand Rapids to Clarence and Edna (Hamment) Stolker. Mrs. Astor was a lifelong resident of the area. She grew up in Ludington and graduated from Ludington High School with the Class of 1945. She married Benni B. Astor on October 25, 1952, in Grand Rapids and they were married 47 years before he passed away on October 30, 1999. Lois enjoyed gardening and nature, hiking out of doors and spending time on the beach, and was a life member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

Lois is survived by her children, Diane M. (Robert) Larson of Pentwater, Rob (Stella) Astor of Traverse City, and Robin M. (Roger) Chlebana of Ludington; six grandchildren, Shannon M. Larson of Lakeview, Carrie (Andrew) Bucholtz of Portland, Isabell and Benjamin Astor of Traverse City, Lynsey and Austin Chlebana of Ludington; three great-grandchildren, Lane Rood of Lakeview, and Ava and Kaleb Bucholtz of Portland; one sister, Marion (Shelby) Schafer of Micco, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benni B. Astor; her grandson, Christopher Larson in 1981; and her sister and brother-in-law, Clarice and Robert Ament.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Astor will be Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church in Pentwater with Rev. Laurie McKinven-Copus officiating. Interment will be in North Weare Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the Wesley Room at Centenary United Methodist Church. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Centenary United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 82 South Hancock Street, Pentwater, MI 49449.
