Obituary

Lois Mae Hildebrandt, 92, of Whitehall, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021. She was born April 16, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar and Grace (Druth) Berg.

Lois was a dedicated and hardworking mother of five. She previously managed Lakeview Rooms, which is now currently the Lewis House, situated on South Mears Avenue in Whitehall. She had also been a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts. Lois was actively involved in Lebanon Lutheran Church, having been a past Sunday School Superintendent, active with the adult choir, bell choir, making banners for events, helping with the Swedish Smorgasbord, and cooking the best soups for the youth group's Lenten soup suppers.

Lois is survived by: her children, Mitzi Luttrull, William (Mary) Hildebrandt, John Hildebrandt, Tom (Debbie) Hildebrandt, and Andrew (Mary Goericke) Hildebrandt; grandchildren, James Jr. (Lisa) Luttrull, Christopher (Leyna) Luttrull, Terry (Charmin) Spicklemire, Kerry (Jeff) Lohman, Mike (Diane) Spicklemire, Sarah (Jimmy) Holy, Adrienne Cox, Elizabeth Fry, Danielle Miller, Magdalina Hildebrandt, and Sydney Hildebrandt; 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ted Berg; and sister-in-law, Linda Berg.

On June 2, 1951, in Chicago, Lois married Carl John Hildebrandt, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2007. She was also preceded in death by: her parents, Oscar and Grace Berg; son-in-law, James Luttrull Sr.; and siblings, Oscar Berg Jr., Dick Berg, Warren (Flo) Berg, and Karen Burke.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1101 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, MI 49461, with Rev. Douglas Ogden officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, MI 49461, and Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church.
