Mrs. Lola Lazetta Abbott, age 107, of Mears, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011. She was born February 15, 1904, in Belmont, WI to Bert and Mabel (Houck) Bashaw. She married Floyd Abbott on September 4, 1926 at the Hart Congregational Church. He preceded her in death in 1949. Mrs. Abbott was a private duty caregiver and also worked at Wilson's Nursing Home. She was affiliated with the Mission Covenant Church in Mears.

Mrs. Abbott is survived by granddaughter, Kathy Hiller of Mears, and great-grandson, Shawn (Tomasena) Rudnick of Ft. Benning, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Her daughter, Gloria Hiller, passed away on November 19, 2008, and a sister, Hazel McCay, in 2001.

Funeral services for Mrs. Abbott will be Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 1:00 pm at Mission Covenant Church, located within the Mears Historic District in Mears, with Rev. Robert Shellhouse officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mears Cemetery.
