Lola Lou Scheid, 88, of Whitehall, formerly of Ida, Michigan, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Mercy Health Mercy Campus in Muskegon.  She was born November 8, 1929, in Lulu, Michigan, the daughter of Ira and Josephine (Manore) Holtz.

Lola retired from Howmet, in Whitehall, where she had been employed for over 20 years.  In her spare time, Lola enjoyed playing cards, bowling and solving crossword puzzles.  Most of all, Lola loved taking care of and spending time with her family.

Lola is survived by: daughter, Linda Curtin of Davenport, Florida; son, Gerald "Jug" (Rita) Scheid of Temperance, Michigan; daughter, Cheryl (Jim) D'Arezzo of Pasadena, California; and son, Danny "Dan" (Ingrid) Scheid of Whitehall, Michigan; grandchildren, Melissa (Tom) Fowler, Bryan (Jen) Curtin, Meredith Curtin, Michael Curtin, Nathan Scheid, Hallie Scheid, Trevor Scheid, Travis D'Arezzo, Shannon D'Arezzo, Isaac Scheid, Hannah Scheid and Paige Scheid; great-grandchildren, John Fowler, Grace Fowler, Sophia Fowler, Andrew Curtin, Myla Curtin, Amelia Curtin, Asher Curtin, Annika Scheid and Kayla Scheid; her sister, Betty Bliss of Ida; and several nieces and nephews.

On September 30, 1950, Lola married Gerald "Jerry" Scheid, who preceded her in death in 2014.  She was also preceded in death by: her son-in-law, Robert Curtin; her sister, Nila VanWormer; her brother, John Holtz; and a brother in infancy.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the Lulu United Methodist Church, 12810 Lulu Road, Ida, MI, 48140. A time of fellowship and refreshments will immediately follow services.
