Mrs. Lorena Catherine VanDenHeuvel, age 90, of Hart, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015. She was born December 14, 1924, in Hart to Joseph and Helen (Hale) Wieber. She graduated from Hart High School with the class of 1942. On May 12, 1945, Lorena married Francis VanDenHeuvel in Hart; they were married for fifty-two years before his passing in June of 1997. She was a homemaker, and a machinist at Howmet, from where she retired and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart.

Lorena is survived by one son: Robert (Mary) VanDenHeuvel of Pentwater, granddaughter, Shelley VanDenHeuvel of Ludington; grandson, Shawn Brimmer of Paris, MI; step-grandson, John Griswold of Muskegon; great-grandson, Brandon Krause of Ludington; and great-granddaughter, Courtney Krause of Ludington. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis VanDenHeuvel; son, Bernard VanDenHeuvel; daughter, Nina Brimmer; sister, Phyllis Loughmiller; and brother, Frank Wieber.

As per the wishes of Lorena, there will be no service. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery at a later date.
