Lorene Velma Duell, 86, of Kingsley, died Friday, January 7, 2022, at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City.  She was born February 19, 1935, in Kingsley, the daughter of Charles "Ben" and Wilma (Riley) Church.

Lorene worked at the Traverse City State Hospital.  She held various housekeeping and nursing positions, carpooling to work with her husband, Fred, who worked in maintenance.  Lorene attended Kingsley United Methodist Church.  In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading.  More than anything, Lorene loved her family and cherished time spent camping at the lake.   She always made it a point to attend school and extracurricular activities for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On November 27, 1953, Lorene married Fred Ivan Duell who survives her.  She is also survived by: her children, Gary (Peggy) Duell of Kingsley and Linda (Mark) Patton of Kingsley; grandchildren, Craig (Jackie) Reamer, Kevin (Hannah) Reamer, Scott (Jessica) Dawson, Kelly (Tony) Saxton, Marshall Perry, Ben Duell, and Ashley Duell; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel, with Pastor Colleen Wierman officiating.  Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.  Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM, Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kingsley United Methodist Church or The Rock of Kingsley.
