Loretta Ann Cox, 85, of Freesoil, died Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont.  She was born March 13, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois.

Loretta worked for many years as a secretary first at Remington Arms Company and later in Munster, Indiana until her retirement in 1994.  Afterwards she and her husband, Clarence W. Cox moved to Freesoil.

Loretta is survived by: her sons, David Cox of Portage, Indiana, and Clarence L. Cox of Freesoil; her granddaughters, Lynnette Cox and Lori Cox; her grandson, Justin Cox; her great-grandsons, Nickolai Cutler and Chad Thurman Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Loretta was preceded in death by: her husband, Clarence W. Cox in 2015; her daughter-in-law, Aleatha Cox; her great-grandson, Garrett Cox; her brother, Richie Vallis; and her sister, Delores Nelson.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, in Ludington, with Pastor Rick Hodgeson officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
