Obituary

Lori Ann Kleinjans, 48, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2022, surrounded by beautiful flowers and her loving family.
Lori was born November 2, 1973, to Dennis and Erma Kamrowski. Growing up on a small farm in New Era with her four other siblings, Lori was an active and intelligent child that loved nature, sports, and family. Starting at a young age and continuing throughout her life, Lori loved flowers and sewing. This love was experienced with all the women in her life, especially with her mother, Erma Kamrowski, and her aunt, Martha Bucher. From embroidery and 4-H showcases to wedding dresses, Martha and Lori created beautiful pieces of clothing and even greater memories. Lori's creativity and dedication continued at Shelby High School where Lori was the Valedictorian of the class of 1992. During her time at Shelby High School, she earned numerous awards and accolades in the classroom and on the track field. With these talents, she pursued a career in Pharmacy at Ferris State University.
At Ferris, Lori continued to excel in both athletics and academics, where she earned top honors in her field of study. Lori enjoyed serving her local community as a Pharmacist, a career that spanned over 20 years. During this time she valued the experiences she had with her undergraduate techs and interns, and was dedicated towards motivating and inspiring these individuals as she instilled the importance of education and ethics within the field. It was also at Ferris that Lori's concerned parents asked a young man to watch over their daughter.  That man became Lori's husband, Joel Kleinjans. Joe and Lori were married in 2002, and settled in Whitehall. During their marriage, they enjoyed traveling to Saint Lucia, spending time at their cottage on Lake Michigan, and taking long road trips in their classic cars.
In 2008, Joe and Lori welcomed the birth of their son, Colten. Joe and Lori adored being parents to Colten, instilling in him the love that they both shared. Lori was a proud momma as she could be seen jogging with Colt in his stroller, or cruising around town in her Trans-Am with Colten riding in the back in his car seat. Lori was very active in Colten's upbringing, encouraging him to try various sports and activities and to always be proud of who he is and what he has done and will do. Lori valued the importance of Colten's education, but more importantly, she valued the interests and experiences that they shared. Colten is Lori's greatest achievement, a loving and caring son that will always carry a piece of Lori with him.
Lori is survived by: her loving husband of 20 years, Joel Kleinjans; father and mother, Dennis and Erma Kamrowski; brothers, Fred Kamrowski, Steve (Karyn) Kamrowski, and  Matthew Kamrowski; sister, Heather (Lee) Renaud; uncles, Earl Tietz, Everett (Muriel) Tietz, and Paul Tietz; aunts, Linda (Rex) Reed and Kathy (Michael) Koehl; in-laws, John Kleinjans and Lisa (Zolton) Steiner; nieces and nephews, Autumn, Jacob, Zander, Anakin, and Shawn.  Lori is also survived by her dear son, Colten Kleinjans, who she loved immensely and treasured the time she spent with him as he grew up. Joe and Lori are loving and dedicated parents that are proud of the young man that Colten has become.
