Obituary

Lorna L. (Brown) Collins of Ludington, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 14, 2016, at Tendercare of Ludington. Lorna was born in Riverton Township March 22, 1942, the daughter of Maraveen O. Brown where she spent many years enjoying the farm of her grandparents Estel and Blance Brown. She moved to Ludington at the age of 12 and attended Longfellow School; she graduated from Ludington High School in 1960. During her lifetime, Lorna worked at Star Watch Case, A&W restaurant, for over 20 years at the medical office of G.L. Mayer, M.D. and at Ludington Area Schools.

Lorna was a member of Scottville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Summit-Pere Marquette Child Study Club. She was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, feeding and watching the birds in her yard, her cats, camping with her son and his family, shopping with her daughter, knitting and crocheting. She was always quick to brew a cup of tea for everyone who stopped to visit her and was a friend to everyone she met.

Lorna was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Maraveen O. (Brown) and Albert R. Keson; multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her son, Mark (Deb) Collins of Scottville, daughter, Loree (Chris) Schneider of Ludington; grandsons, Dr. Kyle (Dr. Ditte Primdahl) Collins of Fountain and Denmark, Andrew (Krissy) Collins of Benton Harbor, Kegan Jolly of Scottville; and granddaughter, Caitlin Schneider of Columbia, MO; as well as a great-granddaughter, Kiya, also of Benton Harbor. She is also survived by special lifelong friends, Dale and Ruth King, Terri and Billy Chandler, Cindy and Tony Jones and their families, all of Batesville, MS and Anita Whitaker of Ludington.

At the family's request, there will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the family, care of King Funeral Home.
